Jeff Bezos is reportedly closing a $10B funding round for his AI startup, Project Prometheus, at a valuation of about $38B.

The company is focused on building AI systems that understand the physical world and can be applied to industries like engineering and manufacturing.

Backed by investors including JPMorgan and BlackRock, the venture is quickly becoming one of the most well-funded early-stage AI companies.

Bezos is taking an active operational role, his first since stepping down as Amazon CEO.

The startup is also planning a separate investment arm to buy stakes in companies that its AI could change or disrupt.
